A Look at International Engagement at the American Medical Association


For several decades, Wayne, NJ resident Dr. Aiman Hamdan treated patients as a cardiologist at Advanced Medical. Outside of his clinical work, Aiman Hamdan M.D. is active with professional organizations that include the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association (AMA).

Since its founding in 1847, the American Medical Association has promoted the art and science of medicine while advancing the quality of public healgth. The organization also represents and advocates for the interests of physicians, and seeks to establish medical ethics and educational standards.

AMA also influences health policy on a global scale through international engaement efforts. Designed to further the reach and impact of AMA’s goals within the United States, international efforts involve strategic partnerships with organizations that include the World Medical Association and the World Health Organization.
